My name is Egor and I am an illustrator. In these reviews I will tell you about the most interesting artbooks in my opinion.

Today I will show you an artbook on anime Spirited Away by Gibli studio.
The authors are the well-known Hayao Miyazaki, who was a director, screenwriter and concept artist of the picture. Yoji Takeshige was also responsible for the concepts. Character Design - Masashi Ando.
Vis Media Publishers has released 14 artbooks on the Ghibli anime studio.
All of them are of the same style and it can be said that these are 14 volumes of one series.

Let's go directly to our artbook -
The format of A4 sheets, hardcover, 240 pages. Gloss paper.
The book is filled with various sketches and preparatory materials. Stages of work and just frames from the anime.
Concept art is made on paper with pencils and watercolor, each frame is drawn by hand, which gives them a special value.
The picture is just an incredible amount of exciting background illustrations, which in some places appear only for a moment, but if you stop and start to consider, it will be clear what a huge amount of work and love for their work the artists have put.
Also very interesting is the method of creating water and combining these effects with 2D animation.
Starting from the 193rd page there is a script for the whole anime, here the paper is already matte.
Such a solution is not entirely clear, it seems that the creators of the artbook did not have enough visual material and for the volume they added a script. Although perhaps someone from the fans it will be interesting.
Total:
-Print quality - Printing at a height, except that the spine leaves much to be desired, after a few discoveries begins to deform a little. Maybe I have a defective copy. 4.0 points
-Format - as for mass artbook - perfect. 5 points.
- Completion is very high quality, it's nice to consider every small detail throughout the entire artbook with the exception of the part with the script 4.5 points.
-Price - almost 24 US dollars per artbook. Given the state in which he arrived and in which he is now, the price almost justifies itself - 4 points.
- Additions - there are no additions, so this item is not taken into account.
-The overall score is 4.3 points.
